The Other Way Round Table

The Other Way Round table collection is a comprise between a coffee and a side table. The mirrored half-moon frame creates a shifting effect and separates the tabletop into two distinct parts. The starting point of the concept is based on the idea that one has the option to see things from two different perspectives, hence the underlined separation between the two sides of the top part. At first glance, the table seems to be symmetric, however, while looking at it from a different angle, its appearance changes. Isabell Gatzen plays around with basic shapes, order, and symmetry and offers multiple viewpoints while encouraging viewers to reflect on the never-ending changes within the nature of things and through its perception.
